Small companies have fewer resources which often result in an tendency to disregard  administrative tasks. A factor that influences the company?s revenues is the control of its inventories. The purpose of the current study was to analyze which of the two options, leasing or owning your inventory, that could be justified from an economical perspective. Furthermore, the purpose was to describe the optimal inventory level for each option. To meet these objectives representatives for the company was interviewed and a thorough investigation process was undertaken, during which methodological problems were solved.  It was found that leasing the inventory was the most expensive option for the company. Analysis demonstrated that optimal turnover inventory according to EOQ (Economic Order Quantity) would amount to 65,0 thousand Swedish Krona if the company leases their inventory in comparison to 56,0 thousand Swedish Krona if the company owned their inventory.

The effects of Joint Ventures announcements on stock returns behaviour - An Event Study of the Stock Market

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of joint venture announcements on stock prices behavior and simultaneously to test the German stock market (Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse) for efficiency. We tried not only to analyze the general impacts of a JV-announcement but also to look for differences in the market response to announcements of different types of joint ventures, namely: domestic, international, horizontal and vertical. Our expectations of efficient market were confirmed during our paper, which employed the technique of the standard event study. The calculation of abnormal returns which are the signals for market efficiency or inefficiency respectively were based on the market model, establishing linear relationship between the return on the market and the return on an individual security. The Determinants and Impacts of Executive Stock Options

The thesis main objective is to establish the determinants for granting executive stock options and to examine their impact on performance for firms listed on OMXS30. The analysis is based on accounting data gathered from annual reports and Thomson Datastream. The empirical results display that firms grant stock options to mitigate the principal-agent problem. The purpose of this essay is to evaluate stock index bonds return to risk ratio in order to investigate to which degree an investor in a stock index bond take part of the underlying index return and what the investor must pay for the security of not losing his funds. Since most serious bicycle accidents are those that occur in conflict with motor vehicles, and the majority of these accidents occur at intersections, these areas are of great importance forcyclist?s safety.The  purpose  of  this  paper  is  to  highlight  bicycle  accidents  at  intersections  and  to  suggest improvements  in three accident-prone junctions  in Stockholm.  This is  achieved  by  the study of accident statistics, literature and finally three case studies.The literature study focused on cyclists, traffic safety and traffic safety measures.

Cross-Border Listings and Price Discovery: Evidence from UK- and US-listed Swedish Stocks

Objective: The objective of this study is to examine the extent to which the London stock exchange and the US stock exchange Nasdaq respectively contributes to the price discovery of Swedish stocks listed on the Stockholm stock exchange, the London stock exchange and the US stock exchange Nasdaq.Method: The study is a replicate study of the studies by Grammig, Melvin and Schlag (2000) and Eun and Sabherwal (2003). The methodology is based on the methodology of the latter study. The data material consisting of quoted stock prices for three Swedish stocks on the three stock exchanges at five-minute intervals during a 49-day-period in 2003 has been run through different statistical tests in a five-step process.Conclusion: The evidence of this study shows that prices on SSE, LSE and NASD are cointegrated and mutually adjusting. The evidence suggests that in all three cases, price discovery takes place on the home stock exchange SSE. Moreover, LSE contributes more to price discovery than Nasdaq.

Their responsibilities for the safety on board have increased in connection with the changes in regulations made on the shipping industry. A detailed dam safety evaluation (in Sweden called FDU) was performed in 2009 by WSP where stability control was performed for Långströmmen power plant with associated spillways. This evaluation concluded that stability could not be ensured, and risk of sliding occurred. The evaluation is based entirely on the recommendations outlined in RIDAS, the power companies guidelines for dam safety, and it is clear that extensive renovations are necessary to stabilize the dam.In this work, the stability will also be checked with guidance through new proposals on guidelines for concrete dams sliding stability, ELFORSK?s report 08:59. This report considered the guidelines in RIDAS as oversimplified, both from an international perspective, but also with regard to the current state of knowledge regarding dam safety.

At Forsmark nuclear power plant the rather old-fashioned software COPTA is used in containment safety analysis. There exists a desire within the organisation to introduce a more modern software with ability to more detailed modeling and increased usability.The goal of this thesis was to evaluate the software APROS in containment safety analysis. APROS models describing one of the containments at Forsmark NPP have been developed. Two simulations of typical containment incidents, one of them a large pipe break, have been made where containment safety parameters such as pressure and temperature are studied. Results are analyzed and verified against results from corresponding COPTA models.

The questions also includes if a non-profit organization might affect the safety and how the role as designated person should be handled in these organizations. Furthermore the study addresses how a non-profit organization that operates traditional ships might improve their safety organization.The information is gathered by interviews with persons that work with safety, controls safety organizations or is active in organizations that operate traditional ships.
